Quartz, Cosmo, and SPRINT are uniting
A new unified performance insights platform is coming soon!
What is Quartz Plus?
Amey's rail analytics platforms are evolving.
Quartz, Cosmo, and SPRINT have been delivering powerful insights to UK rail operators for years and are now being brought together into a new unified platform that will offer unparalleled insight into network performance data, including:
- Station dwell performance
- Train run time and delay performance
- Speed restriction impact analysis
Features & benefits
All your familiar Quartz, Cosmo, and Sprint analytics together, integrated, and enhanced.
-
Station performance
Understand dwell time and performance.
- Train delays down to the second.
- Data by platform, headcode and arrival, dwell and depart times.
- Investigate worst performing trains.
- Journey graphs for each individual trains.
- Delay annotation.
-
Train runtime analytics
Analyse delay causes and their impact.
- Network maps highlight delays.
- See performance over different periods.
-
Speed restriction impact
Examine temporary and emergency speed restrictions.
- See how TSRs affect train run times.
- Geographic analysis of TSRs.
Plus a fresh, unified design with added functionality.
Quartz Plus
- Easier navigation and greater integration between different data sets.
- Greater accessibility to the data you need, including the ability to download data for offline analysis.
- Role based user accounts, giving you direct access to the data and views that you need to do your job.
- Future ready architecture making it easier to upgrade and enhance over time in respose to user feedback.
Launch timeline
The new platform will be arriving across the UK rail network soon. If you're an existing user of Quartz, Cosmo, or Sprint, you'll be contacted nearer the time to help you understand the launch timeline and how it will affect you.
-
1
System configuration
We're currently working hard with UK rail operators to configure the system to your needs.
-
2
Pre-launch training
All existing users of Quartz, Cosmo, and Sprint will be invited to a pre-launch training sessions to help them understand the new system and how to use it before decommissioning the old platforms.
-

Launch and transition
We will launch the new platform and will begin by transitioning the Quartz users to the new system. Over time, the current Quartz dashboard will be retired from service and Quartz Plus will be the go-to site for rail analytics. After the phase 1 launch there will be more work done by our team to ensure that the platform is performing as expected and we will begin with our phase 2 launch for our Cosmo and Sprint users in February 2027. After the phase 2 launch and hypercare period, we will transition into our BAU phase, decommissioning all of the current suite of performance tools. For the remainder of the contract we will ensure that the platform is available to users and any bugs that are reported will be investigated and fixed. Finally, we will engage with the community to see what features can be added and what would be useful to see on the front end, making business cases to secure funding for the continuous improvement that the users need.
